Advocating for Fair and Balanced Spousal Support

Fair Support. Secure Future.

Spousal support, also known as alimony or spousal maintenance, is financial assistance that one spouse may be required to provide to the other after a divorce. In Texas, spousal support is not automatically granted and is typically awarded only when certain legal requirements are met. Courts consider several factors when determining whether support should be awarded, including the length of the marriage, each spouse’s financial resources, earning ability, and contributions made during the marriage.

At Gregg Rose Family Law, we help clients understand their rights and options when it comes to spousal support. Whether you are seeking support or may be required to pay it, our team works to ensure that any arrangement is fair and consistent with Texas law. We carefully evaluate each client’s financial situation and advocate for a solution that protects their long-term financial stability.

These percentages are applied to the non-custodial parent’s net monthly income which
is calculated after certain deductions are taken from the non-custodial parent’s gross
income. Common deductions include federal income tax, Social Security taxes, union
dues, and the cost of health insurance for the child. The court starts with these
guidelines, but it can adjust the amount if the circumstances of the family or the needs of
the child warrant a different result.
